Vor über zwei Jahren wurde bekannt, dass die SPSG eine Großspende für die Attikafiguren des Potsdamer Stadtschlosses erhalten hat.
Mittlerweile wurde auch der Spender bekannt gegeben: Prof. Dr. Hasso Plattner.
Von der Spende konnten 8 1/2 Figuren des ursprünglichen Skulpturenprogramms wiederhergestellt werden. Andromeda und Perseus machen den Auftakt. Sie sind am 24.11.2020 ab 8.30 Uhr aufgesetzt worden.
Nun soll es am Südflügel weitergehen.
Der Verein Potsdamer Stadtschloß e.V. hat bei dieser Aktion insofern Anteil, als dass die Restaurierung der Minerva von ihm bezahlt wurde. Nun entfielen die Modellkosten, da die Originalfigur von 1750 museumsreif restauriert für eine Kopie zur Verfügung stand.
Die Figur der Eurydike konnte dank des Vereins schon vor Jahren restauriert werden. Sie kehrt als einziges Original an den Giebel zum Alten Markt zurück.
